ComplianceHR, a joint venture of Littler and Neota Logic, is pleased to announce the launch of its Travel Ban Navigator, a complimentary web-based service designed to help employers navigate President Trump’s revised “travel ban,” which went into effect in late 2017.
A U.S. Supreme Court decision on December 4, 2017, restricts travel into the United States by nationals of Chad, Iran, Libya, North Korea, Somalia, Syria, Venezuela and Yemen until final decisions on the president’s executive order are rendered by the Courts of Appeal for the Fourth and Ninth Circuits. Employers can use the Travel Ban Navigator to determine the status of employees who might be affected and receive practical guidance and additional resources.
“With regulations shifting nearly daily, access to self-service reference tools like the Travel Ban Navigator have become critical for employers,” said Lori Brown, Chief Executive Officer of ComplianceHR. “The employment landscape is constantly evolving and matters surrounding the ‘travel ban’ are a good example of how we can help companies by combining Littler’s extensive knowledge of employment law with Neota Logic’s innovative artificial intelligence platform.”
Employers using the Travel Ban Navigator are asked general questions about an employee’s citizenship, residency, dual nationality, asylum or refugee status, and when the employee entered or was paroled into the U.S. The tool also asks questions regarding the employee’s documentation, including visas, transportation letters and advance parole documents. For affected employees, companies are provided with information on restrictions impacting these individuals and possible exemptions and waivers.
“While determining whether an employee is affected is very important, the Travel Ban Navigator takes the critical next step and provides employers with practical guidance,” said Jorge Lopez, Chair of Littler’s Global Mobility and Immigration Practice Group. “As employers navigate a complex and constantly evolving immigration law landscape, this tool provides an easy-to-use platform to gauge the impact of the ‘travel ban’ on their workforce.”
