While you wait for the Independent Contractor Regulatory Changes…
As we discussed a couple of weeks ago in our blog Coming Soon: IC and OT Regulatory Changes, we are preparing for the anticipated final rule on Employee/Independent Contractor Classification. As soon as the final rule is available, we will work with Littler to determine the changes that will need to be made to Navigator Independent Contractor and execute the updates as quickly as possible. You may be wondering if there is anything you can do now in preparation for the updates, so we wanted to give you a few things to consider while we wait to see what happens with the final rule.
For Existing Clients:
If you’re an existing client, make sure you are comfortable with Navigator IC so you can use the solution as efficiently as possible. We have a variety of resources available to help you, including our Live Open Office Hours and the Navigator IC section in the Knowledge Center. If you need additional help, please do not hesitate to reach out to us at firstname.lastname@example.org.
If there are evaluations you need to run now, don’t wait! It is important to stay compliant both before and after the final ruling. This way, if the timelines change or regulatory changes don’t take effect soon, you won’t risk your organization’s compliance (and the fines and legal fees associated!). If you think the risk of a position’s classification may change as a result of the regulatory changes, you will have the option to copy that evaluation and re-run it after Navigator IC has been updated.
If You’re Not a Client:
As we wait for the DOL to announce the independent contractor regulatory changes, it’s critical that you remain in compliance.
If you are not an existing client, we welcome you to register for a no-obligation consultation with a compliance expert. After you’ve met with our compliance consultant, you can receive a free trial to use all of the Navigator Suite applications. Register for a demonstration.
Finally, keep your eye out over the next couple of months for further communications regarding the final ruling and some exciting new Navigator IC functionality.
